We have had our first Workaway’s helping us out at Sand River Getaway this month. An awesome couple from Germany who want to experience South Africa. We have given them some hard grafting days redoing our paths using the stones we have on the property. It has made a huge difference to the over all look.

They have also been helping us clear some bush to make space for our big vegetable garden and restaurant in the future. 

We have been workawayers ourselves in Namibia and Mozambique. It really is an amazing way to travel on the cheap, see and experience another country and perhaps gain some new knowledge and skills. Or just sweat a bit.

We are very privileged to be able to do these research trips. It gives us the opportunity to get really close to big pods of dolphins, this one was 150 plus on a still overcast day in Algoa Bay. And another pod of 200 plus at St Croix Island. 

Evenings like this, warm and clear. Everyone gets involved winding down after some busy days away from the TV, away from distractions. Ideas get discussed and days get planned.
